Former Gothenburg Resident: Trudy Kotschwar (1956-2016)

  Trudy Mae Kotschwar, 59, of Kearney, died Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016 at her home, with her family by her side. 
  Memorial services were held at 11:00 am, Monday November 7th, 2016 at First Lutheran Church. The Reverend John Gosswein officiated. A private family inurnment was held at Kearney Cemetery. The family received friends on Sunday at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home.

  Trudy was born on November 12th, 1956 in Gothenburg, Nebraska to Leonard E. and Leona Mae (Sitorius) Widholm. She grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1975. 
  She was united in marriage to Tim Kotschwar on December 16th, 2002. The couple made their home in Kearney where she worked many years for Kearney Eye Institute and Lind Eye Care. 
  Trudy was a member of Family of Christ Lutheran Church. She was an avid gardener and an excellent cook. Trudy was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 
  She is survived by her husband, Tim Kotschwar of Kearney; a daughter, Jennifer Fiese and her three children all of Kearney; a son Richard Fiese and wife Melissa and their three children all of Kearney; a son Jeff Kotschwar and wife Becky and their two children all of Italy; and a daughter Jenn Kotschwar and her two children of Kearney; her mother, Leona Widholm of Gothenburg; her sister, Susan Franzen and husband Eldon of North Platte; her brother, Gary Widholm and wife Brenda of Gothenburg; her mother-in-law, Ginny Kotschwar of Kearney; her sister-in-law, Rhonda Nelson and husband Woody of Bennington; her brother-in-law, Keith Kotschwar and wife Sarah of Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. 
  Trudy was preceded in death by her father, Leonard; her grandparents and her father-in-law, Harold Kotschwar.
