Cozad, Swedes & Maids Battle At Lexington Golf Invitational


Just one rung away from the top of the medal stand was Cozad’s Kaylei Becker with a runner-up finish to lead all TRIBUNE-linksters at the Lexington Golf Invitational that was played at Lakeside Country Club on Friday. 
Lady Haymaker Becker circled the course to score an 80, trailing only Hannah Kohl of McCook with a score of 78. 
Along with Becker, Lady Haymaker Abby Cornelius earned a top ten finish in eighth place with a carded score of 87. 
Lexington’s Brooke Speer had a stellar day on the course that she has the most experience on. Speer led the Minutemaids with a 12th place finish with a 18-hole round score of 95. 
Leading the way for the Lady Swedes young squad of linksters was Delaney Harm with a score of 98 being scored inside a logjam for 17th place overall. 
Aaliyah Wilkins of Cozad and Lexington’s Samantha Rimpley contributed greatly for their respective teams with matching scores of 111. 
Cozad was fourth overall in the team race with a combined score of 383. Earning podium finishes in the team races were McCook (345), Holdrege (372) and North Platte (382). Gothenburg was eighth in the team standings and Lexington earned a 10th place finish.
