Cozad Celebrates Homecoming 2015
Homecoming 2015 will be celebrated at Cozad Community Schools next week. The traditional event will climax with a dance following the Cozad Haymakers gridiron showdown with the Chanticleers of Ord on Friday, October 3rd at 7 p.m.
The Homecoming festivities got started with the decorating of the school.
There have been ‘Spirit Days’ that allowed the Cozad High School students to dress-up in different costumes and genres throughout the week.
--Monday: “Destination Day”- Freshmen: Juneau, AK; Sophomores: San Diego, CA; Juniors: San Antonio, TX; Seniors: Honolulu, HI.
--Tuesday: “Tacky Tourist Tuesday.”
--Wednesday: Neon Day
--Thursday: “Mathletes vs. Athletes.”
--Friday: Class Color Day - Freshmen: Grey; Sophomores: White; Juniors: Red; Seniors Black.
The Parade/Pep Rally on Friday will start approximately at 2:40 p.m. with the high school student body starting the parade at 16th and Meridian Streets.
There will be seating available during the pep rally for citizens of Cozad to attend and enjoy. The Haymaker Band will hold a Sloppy Joe Feed from 5-7 p.m. in the commons area.
The Cozad High School Royalty will be crowned at the conclusion of the football game on Friday night.
The following listed individuals have been selected to the ‘Top Five’ selections as candidates for the 2015 Homecoming Royal Court.
The candidates for Queen are:
--REBECCA ETHERTON: daughter of Clay and Robin Etherton.
--KATRINA GERMAN: daughter of Paul and Jane German.
--ANDREA NEILL: daughter of Mike and Debbie Neill.
--TAZAH WEINMASTER: daughter of Jimi and Alicia Weinmaster.
--JORDYN WORRELL: daughter of Dennis and Kelly Worrell.
The candidates for King are:
--SAM COLE: son of Jack and Thea Cole.
--LOGAN GEISER: son of Scott and Robin Geiser.
--JORDAN HENRY: son of Mike and Jody Henry.
--CHRIS HOFF: son of REuben and Dinna Hoff.
--HUNTER HOLBEIN: son of Chad Holbein and Michele Franzen.
The Homecoming Dance will be held from 9 p.m. to midnight to wrap up the 2015 celebration for CHS students.
