Former Cozad Resident: Joe Alverson (1940-2016)

  Joe Alverson, former news editor of the Tri-City Tribune from 1967 to 1979, died in Kent, Washington, on July 22nd, 2016 after a short illness. He was 76 years old.
  Joe was an award winning photographer and writer while with the Tribune and later worked for Boeing Aircraft Corporation in Seattle, Wahington before retiring in Kent.
  He possessed a delightful sense of humor, an exceedingly sharp mind and, among other things, amazed friends by being able to complete the New York Times crossword puzzle with a ballpoint pen.
  Born June 8th, 1940 in Leveland, Texas, he is survived by his son, Duffy; daughter Corne Clark; grandchildren; Jared Hyatt, Carlene and Charlize Clark; son-in-law, Bill Clark and one sister, Nancy Anderson as well as many friends in both Washington and Central Nebraska area.
  Joe was preceded in death by his wife Margaret and son Todd.
