Christine M. Mercer, 43, of Cozad, Nebraska, died May 24th, 2012, at her home in Cozad.

Christine was born April 17th, 1969, at Gothenburg, Nebraska, to Lawrence "Butch" and Peggy (May) Keefer. She attended Brady High School.

Christine had worked as a cook at Southview Manor in Cozad and later, Cozad Child Care. On June 22nd, 2007, she married Duane Mercer at Lexington and the couple made their home in Cozad.  Christine had most recently been employed at Hunt Cleaners in Cozad.

Christine was a wonderful caregiver to her family.  She worked diligently to care for both of her parents, before they passed away. She was an avid Husker Football fan and loved to ride motorcycles. 

Christine could often be found working countless hours in her yard and painting pictures.  She loved spending time outdoors, whether it was riding, camping, or just spending time with her kids and grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy in 1995; father, Butch in 2011; a sister, Korena in 2011; uncle, Bryan Hyland; and step-son, Bryan Dixon.

Survivors include her husband, Duane of Cozad; daughter, Cassandra Eades (Heather McNulty) of Holdrege; son, Jamie Gerety of Cozad; six step-children; 16 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services were held on Wednesday, May 30th, 2012, at 11 a.m., at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad.  Burial was in the Gaslin Cemetery south of Brady.
