Robert E. Jensen, 80, of Cozad, Nebraska, died Wednesday, April 4th, 2012, at his home northeast of Cozad.  
Robert was born February 28th, 1932, at Cozad, Nebraska, to Peter and Marie (Nielsen) Jensen. He graduated from Cozad High School.

In March of 1952, Robert entered the U.S. Navy and served for four years. Following his discharge, Robert returned to the family farm northeast of Cozad where he worked with his father. On August 25th, 1960, he married Bernice Foster. They had three children, Karen, John and Kathleen. 

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Cozad. He served on the District 18 school board for many years. He was a proud member of the Cozad Honor Guard for many years.

Robert loved to attend the stock car races. He adored his grandchildren. He loved working on his farm; and with all animals, big and small.  He enjoyed helping his neighbors and appreciated their help in return.

Preceding him are his parents; an infant brother, Wayne Jensen; his sister, Anna Casey, and his niece, Virginia Greco.

Survivors include his son, John Jensen of Broken Bow, Nebraska; two daughters, Karen (David) Wilson of Kimball, Nebraska and Kathleen (Jason) Jackson of Sioux City, Iowa; six grandchildren, David Wilson and fiancee, Keelan Weber of Sidney, Nebraska, Ryan (Jenny) Wilson of Elm Creek, Nebraska and Kaitlin Wilson of Kimball, Ariel Jackson, Josephine Jackson and Ben Jackson, all of Sioux City, Iowa; sister, Erna Jensen of Des Moines; and his double cousin, Aksel Jensen of Kearney, Nebraska; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 10th, 2012, at 11 a.m., at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad with Pastor Mike Parsh officiating. Inurnment with military honors was in the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell.
