Virginia Hernandez, 78 of Cozad, Nebraska, died Monday, March 19th, 2012, at the Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Virginia was born November 13, 1933, at Omaha, to Ramon and Guadalupe (Mendoza) Hernandez. She attended Alliance High School. On February 2nd, 1957, Virginia married Daniel Hernandez, and the couple made their home in Cozad. The couple's union was blessed with four children, Juan, Daniel H., Ramona and Victoria. Virginia had worked at D & D Motel in housekeeping before eventually going to work at Monroe Auto. She retired from Monroe's after nearly 30 years, having worked primarily in the fields of repair and utilities.
Virginia was an animal lover. She enjoyed training horses in her younger years and had also bred and raised various breeds of dogs including, Poodles, Pomeranians and Boxers. She loved spending time in her garden and working on word search puzzles. Virginia always loved spending time with her grandkids, as they were the source of some of her greatest joys. Virginia will be remembered as a hard working, dedicated wife and mother.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 24th, 2012, at 11:30 a.m., at Christ The King Catholic Church in Cozad with Father Don O'Brien as celebrant. Burial will be in the Cozad Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.
