Marie Hoselton, 92, of Eustis, Nebraska, died March 17th, 2012, at the Elwood Care Center at Elwood, Nebraska.
Marie was born December 13th, 1919 at Lincoln, Nebraska, to Carl and Amelia "Mollie" (Clouse) Wunder. She attended school in Lincoln, Nebraska and Lexington, Nebraska.
On September 2nd, 1939, Marie married Arthur W. Hoselton at Norton, Kansas. The couple made their home in Cozad, Nebraska, where Marie was employed with Nebraska Plastics. In 1969, the couple moved to Eustis, where they farmed. Shortly after their move to Eustis, Marie retired from Nebraska Plastics after nearly 30 years of employment in favor of a more leisurely life filled with gardening, quilting and baking. In October of 2011, Marie moved to the Elwood Care Center where she made a host of friends.
Marie was known for her warm smile, kindness to others and love of music. She came from an extremely musically gifted family; with some of her siblings and other relatives having pursued careers in music. Marie herself could play the organ and the accordion; and of course, she loved to dance, especially to Polka. Marie was also known for her pies, cookies, bread and rolls. She greatly enjoyed spending time at the Eustis Senior Center with friends, playing in the "kitchen band", playing cards, Bingo and making noodles.
Marie was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Eustis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur, in 1985; husband, Ralph Clay in 1996; two sisters, Esther and Mollie; five brothers, Carl, Edward, Henry, Emanuel and Alex.
Survivors include her son, Jim (Cathy) Hoselton of Eustis; daughter, Kay (Jerry) Quinn of Oxford, Nebraska; five grandchildren, two step grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held (today) Thursday, March 22nd, 2012, at 11 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eustis with Pastor Beverly Rautenberg-Panko officiating. Burial will be in the East Cemetery at Eustis.
A memorial has been established in her memory. Condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com.
