Sandra Kay Sherard, 64, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012, at the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital following a three-year battle with cancer.

Sandy was born February 19th, 1948, in Grand Island, Nebraska, at St. Francis Hospital to Frank (Bud) and Dolores (Hadenfeldt) Williams.

She was baptized as an infant at Zion Lutheran Church of North Shelton and confirmed in 1962 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Shelton. She and Robert L. Sherard were married July 21st, 1973, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

She was a graduate of Shelton Public School in 1966 and a graduate of the Grand Island School of Business and was employed by Peterson & Peterson Freight Co., and later at the Grand Island Collection Agency. When she and Bob moved to Gothenburg she was employed by the Gothenburg Hospital until retiring in 2004.

Survivors of the immediate family are her husband, Bob; two daughters, Tracy (Randy) Underwood of North Platte, Nebraska, Kim Morrison of Gothenburg; son, Robert Jr. (Judy) of North Platte; her mother, Dolores Williams of Shelton, Nebraska and sisters, Susanne Carlson and Sheila Williams, both of Grand Island and Stephanie (Steven) Haase of Norfolk Nebraska; eight grandchildren, Taylor, Logan, Stone and Austin Underwood and Scott, Emily and Jacob Morrison and step-granddaughter, Jordan Olnhausen; step-grandchild, Katie Underwood-Wilson (John) and great-granddaughter, Ireland Wilson.

She was proceeded in death by her father in 1972 and Dwayne Morrison, son-in-law.

Services will be held at American Lutheran Church on March 3rd, 2012, at 11 a.m., in Gothenburg.  The Rev. Matthew Groenke will officiate.

Memorials may be given to the American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg.
