‘Written In The Stars’ To Be Seen At Gothenburg Prom On Saturday PDF Print E-mail

It will be like taking an evening walk outside as Gothenburg Students will enjoy the ‘Written in the Stars’ theme that will be reflected in decorations greeting students at Dudley Elementary during the annual Gothenburg High School Prom festivities on Saturday, April 26th.

The evening’s events will begin with punch parties from 5-6 p.m. Juniors will gather at the home of Matt and Laura Lauer at 2009 G Avenue and the Seniors will assemble at Stone Hearth Estates at 110 20th Street. Group pictures for Seniors will be taken at 5:15 p.m. and the Juniors will strike a pose at 5:45 p.m.

Sophomore servers will meet at the Dudley gym at 4:30 p.m. They will perform a dance for parents and the public at 4:45 p.m.

Community members can view decorations in the school gymnasium from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Saturday and watch prom goers arrive at the school beginning at 6:15 p.m.

The 2013 banquet, catered by “The Main Course,” starts at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by a program including a senior video and a dance by the sophomore servers.

At the conclusion of the meal and program, the students invite the public to attend a Promenade to showcase the Prom-goers in a ‘Red Carpet’ type event that will be held at the Performing Arts Center. Following their arrival at the Prom, Family Tree will take professional photographs of prom goers beginning at 8:30 p.m. followed by the dance from 9 p.m.-12 a.m. Doors to the dance close promptly at 10 p.m.

Before students enter the dance, they will be tested for alcohol consumption by a breathalyzer.

A post-prom party is planned at the Gothenburg High School from 12:30 a.m. until 4 a.m. Refreshments will be served and prize drawings will be held.

Juniors are asked to return to the school from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday afternoon to clean up from the festivities.
