2014 Dawson County Fair Set To Begin This Saturday PDF Print E-mail

The Dawson County Fair is set to start on July 12th and stretch to July 20th. This year’s theme is “Your fair...coming together in 2014.”

Along with the always popular 4-H exhibits and the carnival will be many events that will be sure to entertain the masses in attendance on the Fairgrounds.



The Stock Car Races are always fan favorites. During the fair, races will be held on Sunday, July 20th starting at 6:30 p.m.
There will be the ever popular Team Penning that will be held in the Dawson County Arena on July 17th at 7 p.m. It is free to the public.

On Friday July 18th the James Lee Band will take the stage at 7 p.m. opening up for the Bart Crow Band who will be performing at 8 p.m. in front of the Grandstands. Admission is $20 for all ages.
There will be a NASCAR Simulator in front of the Grandstands on Wednesday, July 16th and Thursday, July 17th. It costs $3 per ride or  $5 per ride for timed competition for a cash prize.

The every popular Pig Wrestling Competition will be held in the Dawson County Outdoor Arena on Saturday, July 19th. Registration will be at 5:30 p.m. and the competition will begin at 7 p.m.

The Carnival will open on Wednesday, July 16th and stretch into the night of Sunday, August 20th.

Make sure and check out the exhibits and show animals that the youth of Dawson County have worked very hard to prepare in hopes of punching their ticket to the State Fair in August and September.
