Tri-City TRIBUNE Captures Awards In Newspaper Contest PDF Print E-mail

The Tri-City TRIBUNE collected 18 awards and was unveiled as the runner-up in the Weekly Class D Sweepstakes during the Nebraska Press Association Convention held in Grand Island on Saturday, April 12th, 2014.

 

Publishers and newspaper representatives from the South Dakota Press Association judged this year’s entries.

 

The Tri-City Tribune took home the first place prize for Use of Color, News in Class D, a division for the largest weekly, circulated newspapers in Nebraska (2,801 and up).

 

Corbey Dorsey won eight photo awards, including a clean sweep of Sports Action Photos in Class ‘D’. Dorsey had the top two entries in the Sports Feature photos in Class ‘D’ as well. Corbey had the second and third place photos in the News Photography division for Class ‘D’. Photo pages that were designed by Dorsey tied for third place honors with the Pony Express Rodeo and the Plum Creek Rodeo being featured.

 

Lincey McDonald designed the first place small Ad for Lenten Specials for Class ‘D’.

 

The Classifieds section for the Tri-City TRIBUNE was the runner-up for Class ‘D’ entries.

 

The Tri-City TRIBUNE had show accolades for their entries in Lifestyles page; Use of Color, News; and Use of Computer Graphics-Produced in House.

 

In the Sports page division for Class ‘D’, the Tri-City TRIBUNE was third overall.  The Thinking Outloud column written by Kelly Ninas was third among the entries for Sports Column for Class ‘D’.

 

The Gothenburg Times was the Class ‘C’ Sweepstakes champion. The Gothenburg Times won several awards in Class ‘C’ a division for newspapers with circulation between 1,501 and 2,800.
