The 98th Annual Eustis Fair and Corn Show will kick off Sunday, August 3rd with 11 a.m. registration for a trail ride in the Eustis rodeo arena and will end with a BBQ at 5 p.m. on the fairgrounds.
The week will be constantly in motion with fair activities including arena volleyball, Tuesday evening August 5th. 4-H exhibits will be entered and judged Wednesday, August 6th.
The 4-H livestock and open class domestic arts and agricultural exhibits will be entered on Thursday, August 7th. There will be the 4-H rabbit and poultry show Thursday morning held at the livestock show arena, followed by the market beef ultrasound testing at 12 p.m. to search for the top live carcass animal brought to the show. 4-H and open class tractor driving will immediately follow by the rodeo arena at 1:30 p.m. 4-H Olympics will be in the livestock arena at 3 p.m. Three Brothers Winery will make their first visit to the Eustis Fair and Corn Show, entertaining with a wine garden event from 6-9 p.m. The Eustis Ag Society’s annual twenty team, cattle penning contest will close the evening on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Things will begin to heat up early Friday morning with 4-Hers and FFA competitors excitedly hurrying to prepare to compete in the always high quality livestock show that starts at 8:30 a.m. with the swine show getting the day rocking. All the livestock and 4-Hers and FFA members will walk away at the end of the day with their ribbon or trophy marking another great year.
The evening will wind down with Three Brothers wine garden’s final evening event at 6 p.m. and the always exciting hog wrestling competition in the rodeo arena at 7 p.m. Saturday, August 9th will begin quietly with 4-Hers intently studying several groups of livestock in the judging competition; registration at 7:30 a.m. and the contest begins at 8 a.m. in the livestock show arena.
The 4-H ladies will show off their smiles and styles with the 4-H Fashion Revue and entertainment show on stage in the fair building hall at 1 p.m.
On Saturday afternoon in the fair building, fans will cheer on their favorite amateur entertainer in the Galaxy of Stars talent search competition. The audience will get a chance to vote on “People’s Choice” for their favorite entertainer. The group of judges will make the ultimate decision on which top three entertainers will walk away with the cash and automatic entry to the Nebraska State Fair competition in Grand Island. The Eustis Lions Club’s always exciting demolition derby and fireworks finale begins Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and will close out the Eustis Fair and Corn Show week.
