Marlene Houchin, 65, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died March 14th, 2017 in Kearney, Nebraska.
She was born May 6th, 1951 in Lexington, Nebraska, daughter of Clarence "Jack" and Glenna "Darlene" (Wind) Strickland.
Marlene lived in the Lexington, Cozad and Gothenburg area all her life. She married Daniel R Houchin on June 11th, 1966 at Lexington. Marlene's special interests included crafts, crocheting, shopping, and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Shane and Terry Houchin; daughter, Becky (Kelly) McCoy; 8 grandchildren - Morgan Weaver, Madisen Weaver, Connor McCoy, McMinkley McCoy, Brianna Houchin, Christian Houchin, Sydney Houchin and Kelsey Johnson; brother, Larry Strickland; sister, Kathy (Terry) Sabin, sister, Linda (Greg) Osborne; nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. She will be missed by many.
Marlene was preceded in death by husband, Daniel Houchin, two infant sons; her grandparents; dad Jack Strickland; mother Darlene Weber; two sisters Kristi and Jackie; three brothers Gary, Terry and Robert.
Services were held at Evangelical Free Church, Monday, March 20th, 2017 at 10:30 am.
Interment followed in the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
