Elna “Jean” Bevard, 83 of Cozad, Nebraska, died Saturday, June 29th, 2013, at the Golden LivingCenter in Cozad.
Jean was born September 3rd, 1929, at Lexington, Nebraska, to John and Jenny (Holster) Flynn. She attended Lexington High School.
On December 14th, 1946, Jean married Thomas F. Bevard, Sr. at Lexington. The couple made their home in Cozad where Jean was employed with Monroe Auto for 29 years where she held a multitude of different positions. While at Monroe’s she worked concurrently in housecleaning, all while raising her five children.
Jean was a member of the First Church of The Nazarene in Cozad. She enjoyed doll making, sewing, embroidery, watching TV and spending time with her family. Jean also spent a great deal of time working on her family’s genealogy and expanding her spoon collection.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sons, Tom, Jr. in 2005 and Bill in 2012; five grandchildren; two brothers and seven sisters.
Survivors include her son, Victor Bevard of Cozad; two daughters, Linda (Gary) France of Papillion, Nebraska and Sally Maher of Lincoln, Nebraska; 15 Grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren; sister, Janice Bevard of Lincoln; and many other relatives and friends.
Arrangements are pending at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.
