Kick-off, first serve, opening pitch and the starting line are fast approaching, as many of the TRIBUNE-area athletic teams are full throttle into fall practice schedules for the 2014 seasons.
Cozad, Lexington, Gothenburg, Elwood and Eustis/Farnam all have scrimmages open to the public planned to debut their respective athletic teams.
Admission to these displays of Haymaker talent is one sports drink to get the chance to see Cozad’s Cross Country, Volleyball and Football squads; as they work together to express ‘One Community, One Team’. The Red and Black will host their showcases on Friday (Tomorrow) August 22nd.
The Volleyball team will duel at the net at 4:30 p.m. in the Cozad High School gym.
The Red and Black-clad harriers will start their competition with a run on August 22nd as well, with an event that will start and finish at Haymaker Stadium.
Following the hardwood showcase, the Haymaker Football team will have their scrimmage to put the finishing touches on their skills at 7 p.m. at Haymaker Stadium.
Lexington High School will be holding most of their scrimmages on Friday, (Tomorrow) August 22nd.
At 4 p.m. the Plum Creek Park will be host to the girls and boys Cross Country teams, for their Watermelon Run. The Lexington Boy’s tennis team will host a ‘Powerade’ scrimmage at 5 p.m.
Lexington High School will showcase their Volleyball team with the playing of a ‘Powerade’ scrimmage at 6 p.m. in the Lexington High School gym.
The nightcap will be a ‘Powerade’ scrimmage at 7 p.m. for the Minutemen Football squad at Ray Ehlers Stadium.
The Gothenburg athletic squads will fine tune their skills in sports drink scrimmages. The Swedes will hit the ground running in gridiron action with a sports drink scrimmage on Friday, (Tomorrow) August 22nd at 7 p.m. The Gothenburg netters will showcase their talents at the net on August 29th at 5 p.m.
The Elwood Lady Pirate netters and Pirate football players will have their first competitions in Gatorade scrimmages on Thursday, August 28th. The volleyball contest will start off the doubleheader with a 5 p.m. first serve time, with the football team kicking off their scrimmage at 6 p.m.
The Eustis/Farnam athletes will be using their preseason practice time to fine tune their skills and talents to be put on display once the regular season starts for the Knights 2014 Fall campaign.
