Lady Swedes Are Optimistic For 2016-17 Season
The Lady Swedes enter the upcoming 2016-2017 season with an abundance of experience that includes six letterwinners doning the Cardinal- threads this season to lead the Gothenburg girls hoopsters.
The athleticism of the Lady Swedes is overflowing. There is great potential on the Gothenburg girls hoops squad.
Leading the way for the Lady Swedes will be Gracie Stienike from her swing position. Stienike was a force to the tune of 9.5 points and 6.8 rebounds a contest this past season. Entering her Junior season on the hardway, Stienike needs to continue to thrive for continuity. Gracie is one of those ‘lead by example’ type of athletes that will hold teammates to high standards that are similar to her own feelings and thoughts.
The Senior trio of Jaci Teahon, McKenna Peterson and Kasey Wellmann have played a ton of basketball for Gothenburg during their prep careers.
Wellmann is a fearless defender that learned long ago that her speed and quickness would never be threatened. She will be a great on-the-ball defender.
McKenna Peterson has been involved within the offense as a primary ball handler for much of her career as a Lady Swede cager. Peterson has the potential to be a consistent shooter, and could cash in if needed in certain circumstances.
Jaci Teahon is a coaches favorite, as she is very good at a lot of things and cares about success of the team. Teahon does a lot of the little things that aren’t found in statistical boxscores.
