Robert "Bob" Rellen Peterson, 84, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died November 30th, 2012, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.
He was born February 6th, 1928, near Brady, Nebraska, son of Clarence H. and Mable I. (Tarr) Peterson.
Bob grew up near Brady and attended Lincoln County Dist. 74 (Union School). He graduated from Gothenburg High in 1945. He served his country as an Electronic Technician in the US Coast Guard from 1945-1948. He graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1951. Bob married Marjorie Paustain on June 6th, 1953, at the First United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. Bob and Marjorie spent their last five years living at Stone Hearth Estates.
They lived in San Antonio, Texas; Roland Park, Kansas; Baltimore, Maryland; and Gothenburg. Robert enjoyed gardening, travel, cooking, reading non-fiction and pets. He was a member of the Methodist Church and NARFE.
Surviving are two sons: David and wife Carol Peterson of Upperco, Maryland, Gregory Peterson of Baltimore, Maryland; daughter: Linda Custer of Linthicum Heights, Maryland; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marjorie in 2011, infant brother, Gerald Peterson in 1926, brother, Harold V. Peterson in 1995, son-in-law, Jon Custer in 2004.
Memorial services will be held (today) Thursday, December 6th, 2012 at 10:30 a.m.at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Peckham Cemetery, Gothenburg.
