Alicemae Holland, 65, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Sunday, November 11th, 2012, at her home in Lexington.
She was born June 14th, 1947, in Kearney, Nebraska, to John E. and Frances (Shimonek) Holland. Alicemae grew up in Overton, Nebraska and attended Overton schools.
Alicemae was a special child of God as she was born with disabilities.
She loved competing on the bowling team for Special Olympics, reading, especially Nancy Drew mysteries, going on trips as a snowbird to Texas with her family. She also traveled with her South Central family to Branson, Missouri and Dodge City, Kansas. She attended People First activities, and loved dancing to the Lawrence Welk Show. Alicemae absolutely loved her beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers and never missed watching a game.
Alicemae lived a full and happy life and will never be forgotten.
She was a member of the Overton Methodist Church.
Survivors include two brothers: Bill (Olga) Holland of San Diego, California, Tom (Mary Jo) Holland of Gloucester, Massachusetts; one sister: Kathy (Gary) Horn of Elwood, Nebraska; many nieces and nephews.
Alicemae was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bob and Larry; one sister, Marianne, and one brother-in-law, Kent Gardner.
Funeral Services were held Friday, November 16th, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Overton with Reverend Steve Smith officiating.
Burial was in the Overton Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to South Central Developmental Center or Special Olympics.
Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington was in charge of arrangements.
