Cozad City Council To Have 2nd Reading Of Parking Ordinance
A second reading of Ordinance No. 1464 is scheduled for Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Cozad City Council meeting. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. If/when passed, the ordinance will be effective immediately.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COZAD, DAWSON COUNTY, NEBRASKA, AMENDING SECTION 5-608 OF THE COZAD MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING TRUCK PARKING AND NON-MOTORIZED VEHICLE PARKING, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COZAD, DAWSON COUNTY, NEBRASKA.
Section 1. That 5-608 of the Cozad Municipal Code be amended to appear as follows:
5-608 Parking: Trucks; Non Motorized Vehicles. It shall be unlawful for the operator of any truck with an overall length of more than twenty (20) feet to stop or park any such vehicle between six (6:00) o’clock P.M. and six (6:00) A.M. on a street which the Governing Body has designated to be within the “residential district,” except to load or unload, for a period of time not to exceed what is reasonable necessary to load or unload. It shall be unlawful for the operation of any truck, regardless of length, to park said vehicle within a street intersection, on a crosswalk, in front of a private driveway, or sidewalk. The Governing Body may, by resolution, provide truck parking areas with the Municipality, and when such parking areas are provided, it shall be the duty of all truck operators to use such parking areas for all parking purposes.
It shall be unlawful for the owner of any non motorized vehicle, camper, trailer, boat trailer, or similar wheeled vehicle to park on any street within the City Limits between the dates of November 1 and March 31, both inclusive.
Section 2. That any Ordinance or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
