Cozad wins own Invite, SWC prize

HOW INVITE TEAMS FARED

     Cozad 311, Holdrege 314, Kearney JV's 320, Valentine 322, Minden 321, North Platte St. Pat's 335, Ogallala 336, Gothenburg 349, Broken Bow 353, Ainsworth 362, Chase County 365, Gibbon 398.

     Cozad delivered a double wallop in a combined home invite and Southwest Conference Boys Golf meet Monday.

     The Haymakers finished at the top of the Invitational field, holding a three stroke edge over Holdrege, 311-314. The Kearney Jayvees (320) and Valentine (322) followed.

     Jordan Arsendorf of North Platte St. Pat's was the medalist, he coupled cards of 36-35-71. Just a stroke behind was Justin Henry of Cozad, who posted a 35-37-72. Valentine's Adam Dredge (36-36-72) and Haymaker Tarron Hecox (38-35-73) followed on the medalist ladder.

     Trevor Tetley (41-39-80) nabbed the 14th place medal for Cozad.

     Alex Peden sparked Gothenburg performers, he duplicated 39's for a 78 net.

SWC TOURNEY

     Cozad 311, Ogallala 321, Valentine 322, Minden 331, Gothenburg 349, Broken Bow 353, Ainsworth 362.

     Justin Henry Cozad and Valentine's Adam Dredge both collected 72's to finish 1-2 in the Southwest Conference Championship.

     Tarron Hecox (38-35-73) and Trevor Tetley (41-39-80) were third and ninth for the Haymakers on the 'Top 15' medal chart.

     Cozad held a 10 stroke cushion over Ogallala in the final team comparisons. Gothenburg (349) was fifth.
