Johnson, Vu Students Of The Month
Cozad, E/F seniors
Alisha Johnson of Eustis/Farnam and Cozad's Khoa Vu have been named as 'Students Of The Month' by the Cozad Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 2250.
Johnson is the daughter of Jerry and Teresa Johnson, Farnam and Vu is the son of Nguyen and Phuong Vu, Cozad.
Both youths are outstanding scholars and involved in many activities at their respective schools.
Johnson has been on the Distinctive Honor Roll at Eustis/Farnam throughout her high school career. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has been active in band, mock trial competition, served as a class officer, is a District NYI Council member, served as YCIP president and has been involved in volleyball and basketball. She has also served as a Sunday school teacher and Vacation Bible School assistant.
Kendi Boller, who has been associated with Alisha through the Nazarene Church said, "I have known Alisha her entire life. She has always been a leader and as she has grown and matured, I have seen her perfect that characteristic. She is always the first to volunteer for anything in our youth group and it is with a positive, compassionate heart that she does so."
Vu has been on the High Honor Roll throughout his high school career and has won numerous awards in the Cozad Community Scholastic Program. He was also a National English Award Merit nominee, served on the student council, as a class officer during his freshman and junior years and has been an active member of the Future Business Leaders of America. He is a member of the Cozad 'C-Club' and has participated in football, wrestling and track and field.
CHS Guidance Counselor Dustin Favinger said, "Khoa has proven himself academically and I feel confident that he will continue to succeed in his studies. Historically, he has proven to be an outstanding student, achieving a 3.9 grade point average while undertaking the most rigorous course of study. He has been very involved in athletics, FBLA, STAND, as well as working with many other school and community base organizations."
