Coronation week schedule is
busy for Gothenburg students
day evening festivities set

Students at Gothenburg High School have been extremely busy this week with activities surrounding their annual Coronation event scheduled for Friday evening.
The annual Winter Coronation theme is 'Send the Badgers Back to their Wildlife Sanctuary.'
Spirit week has been fun for the students thus far. Monday was 'Kick the Badgers Back to the 80's' Day. Tuesday was 'Save the Sanctuary Day,' as Swede faithful wore their super hero or villain attire to 'Get Rid of Badger Pride.' Wednesday was Camouflage Day for the Swedes to hunt the Badgers. Today (Thursday) will have a NASCAR flair as students will wear their favorite driver colors to avoid hitting Badgers in their fast cars. Friday students will wear their appropriately assigned colors by class.
Coronation ceremonies will commence following the boy's basketball game versus Valentine Friday evening at the Community Building. Following the hard-court contest, the traditional introduction of the senior class members will take place with the crowning of king and queen shortly thereafter.
Gothenburg students will partake in a dance in the elementary gym Friday night from 9:30 p.m. to midnight, with the doors closing at 10 p.m.
